As we approach Mother’s Day weekend I wanted to take a moment and blog a tribute to mothers. I recognize that every one reading this have had varying experiences with their mothers but I have been uniquely blessed to be raised by a loving and Godly woman. Regardless of experiences, where would any of us be without momma. After all, God used her to bring us here. She could have aborted us but she was inclined to birth us and for that alone each of us should be thankful. The significance of motherhood and womanhood in our society cannot be underestimated. Women have help shape our society as we know it. My mother is a lightweight in formal education but she weighs a ton in mother wit. I learned early on that there was very little she did not know about when she spoke to me:
Reproduction – “I can make another one just like you”
Death Penalty – “I brought you into this world and I will take you out”
Veterinary Medicine – “If you lie down with dogs, you will get flees.”
Trust – “Go get me something to whoop you with”
Of course, the list could go on and on. But in all seriousness, I have learned a lot from my mom. In tribute to my mom and millions around the globe I wanted to share a few of those lessons.
Unconditional love. My mother taught me to love people thru their mistakes and their stupidity. I guess it is because of her that I am not judgmental.
